10,000 BC

I went to watch movie with my friends at Pavilion on last Saturday night. Hmm... maybe it's election's day, many peoples scare to come out because of the rumors that will be a chaotic state, so Bukit Bintang area appears to be quite quiet and so do the cinema. Only half of the seats were being occupied.

The film is set in the prehistoric era. The outline is about a hunter loses his woman to an evil warlord, so he gathers together a massive army to cross the wilderness fighting all manner of man and beast to find a lost civilization and mount a daring rescue.

Hmm... as for my opinion, overall it's quite a flat, dull, and boring adventure. But they do have a very nice visual effects and sound especially at the end part where the construct of the pyramids were shown. The mammoths and sabertooth are awesome whereas the giant birds are very terrifying.

Few things are not so logic in the film. First is the Yaghal speak English. But if they don't speak in English, audiences will confuse as nobody will want to read the subtitles with all the actions going around. There was no such sophisticated structures nor civilizations in 10,000 b.c. Er... if i am not mistaken, the sumerians were the first civilization and they were inhabited at Mesopotamia. Huh? I thought pyramids were built by the Egyptian but not peoples from Atlantis??

But anyway, i think this movie is just meant to be visually entertaining. So i guess it meets that purpose. And it's just a movie, this isn't some sort of base history setting that want audiences to learn the history.
